A creative partnership unlocks innovation for the cultural sector.

Third Space by Studio Saar is an exciting new science and learning centre in Udaipur, North India, composed of galleries, theatres and making and performance spaces. Our original brief was to create 6 stills to help bring this remarkable building to life and explain it to a variety of audiences and communities.

A strong collaborative relationship with Studio Saar gave us room to explore the creative possibilities within the brief and push the level of innovation we could bring to the project. For a building dedicated to science and ingenuity, we worked together to visualise the design in the most engaging way possible, helping the contractors and the delivery team envision a complex building as it developed.

We introduced animation into the stills to show how the appearance of the building's dynamic perforated facade would change from day to night.

We also created an interactive section through the building, rendered at an extraordinary level of detail at over 50,000 pixels wide. Blown up, the image will be used to create a three-metre-long display inside the building, helping visitors to understand and orientate themselves within it.

The visual assets created for Third Space have supported the effective communication of the building at all stages of its development and marketing, and once complete will also make an exciting contribution to its visitor content. Loading the model into a VR app, we have created an immersive physical experience to take place within the finished building, complete with recordings of the ambient sounds of Udaipur.
